Collection of Best Tips For Moving:
Good night sleep. Try not to leave your packing for the last day, and get a good night's sleep, as its important to have clear mind at the moving day.

Parking. Always ensure that there is parking available outside of your premises on the day, this may mean talking to your neighbours in advance of the move and checking that they will move if necessary. If you have meters or permit parking, make sure you have plenty of change or the required permit available to hand.

Access. Try to ensure that all doors, stairs, lifts and hallways are clear of obstructions. This will create a steady flow from the room to the vehicle. Please get you items in advance as close to the house exit as possible without blocking your way through. Please try to keep the items in the order they will need to be loaded into the van, this is:

1st. Awkward Items (Mirrors, Frames, ironing boards, flat packed items, standing lamps, chest of drawers)

2nd. Closed boxes & Suitcases (boxed sized objects).

3rd. Bags & holdalls.

Tips about bags and boxes:

Don't overload your boxes - Please do not overload your boxes (if possible under 50 pounds). If a box is too heavy redistribute the items between two boxes. Try to distribute your items evenly throughout your boxes.

Label your boxes. Pack items together for each room and label your boxes clearly. Label boxes with fragile items as Fragile.

Open boxes can be dangerous - Please close and seal all of your boxes. Boxes left open with items protruding are awkward and can be dangerous. If an item will not fit in a box, please do not try to squeeze it in, bubblewrap it separately.

Bagging your items - If possible try to use suitcases, rucksacks and other items of luggage to pack clothes etc, these are preferable to black plastic bags which are often overfilled and tear easily. If you do have to use sacks try to use top quality bags or even garden refuse bags which are very thick.

Fridges and Freezers. Try not to buy any fridge or freezer food for at least 10 days before you are due to move, so nothing goes to waste, remember to defrost and drain at least 48hours before the move, as appliances must be dry.

Beds. If your bed can be dismantled please ensure this is done prior to your move, as this will save time and space.

Flat Pack Furniture. Dismantle self assembly furniture in advance and tape all the pieces together to stop them sliding around and separating during transit. Remember to put all nuts and bolts in a jiffy bag and preferably tape it to the item it came from

Keys. Get all important keys together. Put them in a safe spot.

Address. Make sure our van driver has correct address, phone number and directions.

Last check. Check all rooms one last time. Remember closets and cupboards, and garage! Make sure all windows and doors are locked.
